Job Description:
As the Data Science Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of data scientists to drive impactful insights and solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the data science projects, coordinating resources, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality analyses and models that drive business growth and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of data scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Set clear objectives, design and communicate technical vision, and ensure the team's deliverables meet project goals and deadlines.
- Foster professional development by identifying training needs and providing opportunities for skill enhancement.
2. Project Management:
- Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure successful project completion.
3. Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data science projects.
- Design and implement advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to extract valuable insights from complex datasets.
- Conduct thorough data analysis, interpret results, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
4. Technical Expertise:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, assist in problem-solving, and review code to ensure best practices and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate data science solutions into existing systems and infrastructure.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business analysts, to gather requirements and align data science initiatives with business goals.
- Communicate complex concepts and results effectively to stakeholders, making technical information accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Foster a collaborative environment by encouraging knowledge sharing, promoting open communication, and facilitating effective teamwork.
Requirements:
- A master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in leading and mentoring a team of data scientists or analysts.
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, data modeling, and predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant data science libraries and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data manipulation, data visualization, and data cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to approach complex business challenges from a data-driven perspective.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with AWS
- Experience with Looker
- Prior work with Time Series Forecasting
- Exposure to geospatial modeling
