This is a temporary position and will be working through Tufts Temps (agency).
Location: On-site, Medford based
Hours: 11am – 8pm
What You'll Do
The Multimedia Support Specialist plays an important role providing superior technical audio-visual support, service, consultation and maintenance to all members of the Tufts University community, across of suite of services, including:
- Classroom and lab technology
- Digital and analog audiovisual/multimedia systems and services
- Event and meeting space technology and general live event assistance
- Event planning, coordination, and support
- Conferencing and collaboration services (e.g. video, web, and teleconferencing)
- Videography and streaming services
- Lecture and content capture services
Responsibilities include:
- Provides technical support for multimedia presentations that take place in a multitude of locations on campus (classrooms, meetings, conferences, etc.) and facility rentals
- Advises and trains faculty, students and staff on the effective use of multimedia systems
- Furnishing Tier 2 frontline support for end user desktop (Windows and Mac), software, and other technology services
- Creating and updating both end-user facing and internal technical documentation
- Participating in periodic project work to implement upgrades to spaces, as well as deploy new and enhanced multimedia services to the Tufts community
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills that are typically acquired through a High School diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in the direct delivery of IT and audiovisual/multimedia support services
- Experience with audiovisual ecosystems; classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms
- A thorough understanding of audio/video signal routing
- Demonstrated experience reading and understanding AV schematics and renderings
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with both Mac and Windows operating systems
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of users and expertise promoting a customer service-oriented attitude
- Knowledge of the current AV industry and commercial AV technologies
- Valid driver’s license
