- The Downstream Reporting & Analysis Organization is a team of >1,000 colleagues providing accurate, timely and insightful analysis to deliver more and cleaner energy solutions.
- Within this organization, we are a cluster of teams responsible for East region end to end Group reporting and Statutory financial reporting activities.
- The role of OE Lead will be primarily responsible for smooth delivery of reporting activities & responsibilities in an accurate timely and efficient manner. He or she will be responsible in guiding and monitoring the team for closing & reporting activities and financial analysis which includes reviewing financial data, advise on complex accounting, making appropriate adjustments if needed; and provide financial analysis to facilitate & support business decision.
- This position will report to R&A FAC Senior Manager in the Finance Operations centre (FO) and has the delegated authority of STM on operational matters. He or she will be is fully focused on meeting all metrics set up for R&A from organisation and group perspective including effective operation of all transactional financial controls.
What is the Role?
- Sets the right priorities regarding multiple work and demands and have indirect influence on team members
- Provides inputs/feedback on internal and Group projects as required by Senior Manager or Report1 focal point
- Act as first point of escalation for process related items within team, resolving or escalating issues timely and effectively.
- Manage effectively interfaces with FO and non FO stakeholders, build end to end perspective. Build trust and confidence in cooperation within Finance Operations.
- Resolve and escalate issues timely and effectively, comply with team, centre, process and global policies and procedures. Exceptionally strong team-working across the process area is essential
- Support local statutory reporting activities and ensure timely deliverables.
- Ownership of operational improvements (CI, ideas) and deliver operational excellence through team members
- Maintain and operate a control framework that ensures effective and robust control over all team activities, covering proper segregation of duties. Ensure operational and design effectiveness of the controls within areas of responsibility.
- Ensure KPIs are reported, analyzed and improvement plans are developed if SLA is not met to drive best practice procedures and influence OU practices. Drive MJE related initiatives and reducing MJE count at entity level.
What We Need from You
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or Professional Qualifications with 5 years related working experience and added advantage of 2-3 years’ experience of formally or informally managing a team
- Working knowledge & experience in SAP is an added advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Sound process understanding in one or more of the following processes: AR/AP, GL, FA, CM.
- Broad knowledge of financial accounting requirements (Proficiency in financial accounting practices and IFRS standards).
- Professional skepticism, good analytical skills, meticulous and able to work independently & prioritize well. Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Results oriented, fast paced, resourceful and proactive.
- Resilient and able to deliver under pressure and work in process heavily loaded towards deadlines
