Job Overview
Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Norco is looking to hire Electricians for our Hourly Development Program at the Norco Manufacturing Complex, with the primary focus on routine electrical maintenance. For this position we are looking for Electricians with less than 5 years working as an Electrician and with an AAS and/or certification in Electrical Technology. In addition, we will consider applicants with related military experience.
The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Norco is located on the Mississippi River in Norco, Louisiana. The refinery processes raw crude into a range of petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel and various petrochemicals. Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Norco has approximately 1000 employees and is a Unionized environment.
This position reports to the Maintenance Team Leader in the Maintenance Department who is accountable to provide Routine Electrical Maintenance at our Norco facility. This position will work a weekday schedule with selected overtime. The Electrician Craftsperson will be required to safely troubleshoot and repair a range of electrical equipment while conducting Preventative/Reactive Maintenance on all electrical infrastructure at our facility.

In this role, the successful candidate will:
Execute, and document regulatory inspections, preventive maintenance and reactive/breakdown maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment in accordance maintenance manuals and manufacturer’s specifications.
Identify specific process improvement needs and provides recommendations for system upgrades and streamlining.
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair electrical equipment at site that may include, water systems, gas processing facilities.
Monitor own development needs and work with Supervisor to address improvements and training.

What experiences, skills and abilities are required?
Preference will be given to applicants who have an AAS in Electrical Technology (or related) programs and/or relevant military experience.
Individual must be a licensed driver.
Proficient at working on a computer, using standard operating programs, and entering information into systems.
Experience working in an environment which requires multi-tasking and the continuous re-prioritization of work tasks due to the demand of keeping systems operational.
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills required to work well and influence others internal and external to the company.

Awareness:
Safe work practices and compliance in a hazardous work environment
Ability to perform Electrical maintenance and/or operations of Petro-Chem facilities.
Lockout/Tag Out Practices
Work at heights and confined spaces.
Must be legally entitled to work in United States for anyone other than current employer.
Some overtime and after-hours coverage required.
Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call to respond to emergencies when required.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate.
Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level.
Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
