We are currently seeking a Technical Lead, Onshore Substation (Gas Insulated) to be part of the team, and support with managing the onshore substation technical works for the Atlantic Shores’ 1,510 MW Project 1. This team member will manage all engineering and other technical related tasks associated with implementing the onshore substations from concept to Installation and pre-commissioning. The location for this role is flexible within the US.

Construction will begin in 2024 and first power is expected in 2027. Project 1 will generate enough clean energy to power more than 700,000 homes and bring $848 million in guaranteed local economic benefits to the state. Responsibilities:
Serves as subject matter expert on onshore substation and support mentoring for other electrical engineers
In collaboration with the Package lead coordinates work deliverables and priorities for the engineers within the project team
Lead the technical interfaces with other technical, development, and commercial teams to ensure communication of required inputs and outputs
Lead engineering assurance for the package, including presenting to management on project progress and ahead of decision gates
Lead the electrical engineering work for onshore substation from FEED to detailed design up to the installation and commissioning of the project
Provide design guidance and technical verification of the onshore substation package design, including definition of employer’s requirements and technical specifications, guidance inputs for the design, fabrication, transportation, installation, and commissioning phases
Keeps safety as first and foremost priority on projects design, contracting and execution
Ensure that the team's requirements and specifications meet industry standards while being forward thinking and innovative
Ensure that quality processes are controlled and respected for the onshore substation package
Coordinate technical support for projects services, including scheduling, risk management and costs estimates
Collaborate with the development team in all phases of projects, to ensure that they develop competitive and optimal projects, including during the BOEM process and other federal, state, and municipal permits and stakeholders’ engagement
Collaborate with the commercial team, including support for tendering and execution of RFI, RFP and preparation of proposals
Responsible for technical aspects of contract negotiating, drafting and review, technical documents or technical and financial proposals
Responsible for identification and definition of interface responsibility matrix related to the cable packages
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
Knowledge of offshore wind energy production, demonstrated experience in onshore substation engineering, design, installation and commissioning
Ability to travel for 3-5 days at a time to coordinate with technical teams, perform site visits, attend conferences, or meet with partners as needed
Comfortable boarding vessels to visit offshore projects
The base salary range for this position is $146,000.00 - $218,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs.
