Job Description:

ROLE: PH COMPLIANCE

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible in ensuring adherence to PH legal & fiscal requirements relative to indirect tax.

  • Act as a focal point in key operational issues including but not limited to those involved in tax compliance/administration and research activities related to tax while monitoring daily/monthly updates on the indirect tax and ascertaining that these updates are properly and accordingly integrated in the process for accurate and timely compliance

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned indirect tax scope (Complex to high complex activities) in a timely and accurate manner

  • Provide expertise to FO and non-FO stakeholders: Team subject matter expert

  • Participate in and/or lead MIT related projects across various locations and processes; initiate lead process improvements

  • Resolve and escalate issues timely and effectively

  • Comply with team, center, process and global policies and procedure

  • Manage effectively interfaces with FO and non-FO stakeholders, build end to end perspective

  • SOAR owner/supervisor role

  • Control operator of either Key or business controls; Ensure operational and design effectiveness of the controls within areas of responsibility

  • Support Team Manager and actively participate in team back-up structure

  • Other assigned activities as deemed necessary

ROLE: MANAGE INDIRECT TAX - US VOLUME

Job Purpose:

  • The Tax Admin Specialist is accountable for timely solution of queries raised to the team and supporting other tax teams. He or She should be able to describe how the business works through the system. Specialist is also expected to deliver process improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the operation

  • The main responsibility is to ensure the appropriate system tax settings in the complex ERPs for the Shell companies in scope and by doing so working closely together with various local, regional and global teams.

  • The Tax Admin Team also provides management information and ad hoc reports related to project delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute updates, changes and correction process in USTIL Master data tables

  • Monitors raw data from the ERP systems (GSAP and Magellan) that goes through complex logic with transformations/updates via the Interfaces (USTIL) to the Tax Software (Avalara) to file various tax returns with State jurisdictions

  • Cross-functional integrations within tax organization and/or feeder processes as necessary to ensure data accuracy and completeness of transactional data from source to tax software

  • Ensure accurate and timely tax returns preparation, filing and payment to Taxing Authorities

  • Reconcile Excise duty and other indirect taxes in adherence with US Fuels fiscal and legal requirements

  • Responsible in meeting SOAR, Controls and Metrics targets for all Shell entities within scope

  • Collaborate with feeder processes and key stakeholders for issues and ensure timely feedback, updates and support are obtained

  • Escalate proactively to Line Manager/Data analytics/Process Experts for issues that could impact the Excise tax returns data

  • Support overall delivery of tax systems: 1. Provide assistance with Zytax and USTIL software, 2. Support user testing and acceptance of system updates, 3. Coordinate application changes to ensure that stakeholders are not adversely impacted, 4. Support the Crescent (credit card) process, 5.Coordinate with the BAM organization as necessary to ensure delivery of ongoing end-to-end support for Indirect Tax applications

  • Provide input for planned enhancements/projects or break/fix changes, participate system and process testing, and communicate to stakeholders

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing Indirect Tax system requirements and assist with feasibility and cost/benefit analysis to develop optimum IT solutions

  • Understand the Indirect Tax Systems landscape, the tax applications and connected applications used. Understand how they are configured and know whom to consult when scoping changes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accountancy

  • 3 years’ experience

  • Experience in managing data and reports

  • Amenable to work on day or midshift schedule
