About the team
The IT Business Outcomes Management team (IT Program Management Office) enables business outcomes by managing strategic and cross-functional projects & programs, primarily enabled by technology. The team is responsible for managing business outcomes (scope, risks, dependencies, milestones) & identifying and aligning to the best project management methodology to accomplish the desired outcome. We aim to support the best teaming experiences and motivate & empower our projects teams to deliver & innovate.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team! The Senior Project Manager facilitates efficient delivery of business outcomes in an agile and lean way within the Information Technology team at Rapid7. They provide timely and accurate decision support for prioritization, business and resourcing questions. They are custodians and evangelists of the “secret sauce” of how Rapid7 IT delivers value.
In this role, you will:
Create, update, and maintain detailed documentation for plans as required by project teams and stakeholders
Manage changes to the scope, schedule and deliverables of each project using appropriate verification techniques
Remove barriers to execution: visibility, communication, ownership, and impediments
Providing insight into how we are executing for the purpose of prioritization and resource allocation.
Increase velocity of planning and prioritization
Maintain, expand & evangelize the project tooling that provides visibility and predictability into solution and project delivery
Provide easy to use tools for project execution, monitoring and value realization
Operate and improve efficiency of sustaining operations
Create delivery cadence through facilitation and tooling for weekly prioritization/alignment meetings and other feedback loops
Coordinate work between multiple IT teams, understanding how each team manages their work
Establish working groups and feedback loops between IT and non-IT groups.
Collect, organize and structure tribal knowledge
Creation and maintenance of operating mechanisms
The skills you will bring include:
5+ years managing large, complex technology projects - often more than one at a time.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and influence others at all levels of an organization without having direct authority over resources
Willingness to cater your project management method based on a project team’s needs
Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables using strong negotiation and problem solving skills
Ability to easily shift between big-picture objectives and numerous detailed tasks
Strong aptitude for developing partnerships across functional areas
Admin experience with Jira & Confluence preferred
