Position Summary:
athenahealth’s Advisory Services organization partners with clients to drive performance improvements and maximize the value of the client’s investment in athenahealth. The Dedicated Advisor will be embedded with the client, providing onsite and remote athenaNet subject matter expertise in revenue cycle and clinical operations. They are a generalist across athena’s products and are focused on driving continued adoption and optimization of athenahealth’s services using project management and change management skills. They will help to implement the use of system best-practices across the client’s organization to drive stronger financial outcomes and user satisfaction. Sample projects may include:
Helping the organization prepare for an athenaNet release
Monitoring and driving adoption of specific athenaClinicals functionality to improve provider throughput
Implementing best practices for patient-pay collections
Prioritizing projects by effort level and business impact
Designing and documenting process for department growth and acquisitions
Managing multiple resources and deliverables for staffing augmentation and consulting engagements
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with operational and technical leadership, building trust through helping drive strategic processes through to completion and will work closely with the client’s Customer Success Manager to nurture the on-going relationship between athenahealth and the client
Develop a deep understanding of market forces affecting our clients and offer insights into new ways athenahealth can provide greater value in helping our customers meet their business goals
Be a trusted advisor among internal and external constituents (up to C level) based on program management, product and solution knowledge.
Actively monitor key performance data and identify high-impact areas for improvement
Improve business processes to enable stronger outcomes on athenaNet
Act as a change agent, articulating the case for adoption of best practices and continued maturity in the use of athenahealth’s products
Construct and ensure projects meet client objectives and provide clear and achievable objectives and milestones
Drive the continued utilization of the Onsite Advisor engagement through the identification of ongoing performance improvement opportunities
Drive strategic alignment on project priorities through the organization of regular governance meetings with the program sponsor and other operational leadership
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field highly desired
Minimum of 9 years healthcare and/or consulting experience
Strong work experience in Consulting, Account Management, Implementation, or Customer Success in the healthcare space is preferred
athenaNet application knowledge required
Experience with project management and process improvement methodologies
Proven client management experience
Revenue cycle and/or experience working in a medical setting preferred
Extensive experience and comfort with MS tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent communication skills and effective networking with a broad base of internal and external constituents
Ability to manage numerous detail-intensive, interdependent, and time-sensitive tasks and ensure the accurate completion of the same
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired results
Proven ability to collect, monitor, and analyze data to make strategic recommendations for improved processes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated communication skills and effective networking with a broad base of internal and external constituents
Ability to manage numerous detail-intensive, interdependent, and time-sensitive tasks and ensure the accurate completion of the same
Ability to influence and manage large scale process change within a department and with cross-functional teams
Aptitude for reengineering processes and tools to improve organizational scalability, efficiency, and quality
